How to permanently unlock iPhone 5

AT&T iPhone Unlock

The iPhone 5 has landed on AT&T and has broken all previous sales records for AT&T. If you’ve got your hands on one of the new iPhones from AT&T we can help you unlock it so you can use it with any carrier you choose. This will be a “factory” unlock meaning you wont have to use any hardware (turbosim) or any 3rd party software (you use iTunes for this process and there is no need for jailbreaking software). All you really need is your IMEI and itunes. It’s that simple to unlock your iPhone 5.

  • Purchase your iPhone 5 unlock
  • Approximately 4 – 12 hours after your purchase you’ll receive an email notifying you the phone has been unlocked and with some additional instructions on how to complete the iPhone 5 unlocking process
  • Install the latest version of iTunes
  • Update your iPhone to the latest iOS version with iTunes
  • Insert a non-accepted SIM card (not an AT&T SIM) and connect the phone to iTunes
  • Wait for iTunes to detect the device and then disconnect the phone
  • After 10 seconds, reconnect the phone
  • Your iPhone 5 is now unlocked!

If you receive a message “activated” or “unlocked” but when I connect to iTunes nothing happens try connecting to iTunes and perform a backup and then a restore.

If your phone is jailbroken and it will not allow you to do a restore, you’ll need to complete the following:

  • Open the phone in DFU Mode
  • Open iTunes and connect the phone to your PC (or MAC)
  • Press and hold the Home button along with the Sleep/Wake button at the same time
  • After 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button and continue to hold the Home button until a message pops indicating it has detected a phone in recovery mode.
  • Perform a restore on your phone

It may take you a few tries performing these steps to get your phone into DFU mode. Give it a couple tries if you need to. If you are still holding both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button when the Apple logo appears you have held them too long. If you are having issues with the timing hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before you think the Apple logo is going to appear. Again this may take you a few (or several) attempts before you have success.

With this iPhone 5 unlocking method your phone is permanently unlocked and you’ll be able to update the phone as often as you like and your unlock will always remain. This is just like a factory unlock.

Unlock HTC 8X

HTC 8X IMEI Unlock Code

It’s been a busy past few weeks for smartphone releases.  I’m sure it has nothing to do with the iPhone 5 launch.  Everyone that seems to be involved in the never ending patent court cases has dropped some new phones recently.  Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG and several others.  In this rush to release new phones HTC has announced some new Windows Phone 8 models, the HTC 8X and HTC 8S.  The HTC 8X is a pretty nice phone sporting some pretty nice specs.  The HTC 8X is a very thin phone, measuring in at 0.39 in and like any new mobile device comes sporting a dual-core processer, the 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4.  The 8X also has a very crisp 4.3 in Super LCD 2 with 1280×720 resolution for a PPI of 342.  It also has 1 GB or RAM, NFC and Beats Audio and comes with 16 GB storage capacity (not expandable).   According to reports the HTC 8X will drop on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Take a look at what some others have to say about the new Windows Phone 8 device:

As usual most carriers won’t be handing out unlock codes for the latest phones, they usually wait about 90 days before they start giving them out to current customers in good standing.   If you can’t get a free unlock code from AT&T or T-Mobile we have a few options below (one of them for a FREE HTC 8X unlock code):

AT&T has just announced what some are calling a “budget-friendly” Android 4 (ICS) device, the LG Escape P870.  At just $50 for the device, “budget-friendly” seems accurate.  It’s an impressive phone for that price point.  It will come sporting (as mentioned previously) Android 4.0 (ICS), a 4.3 in display, support LTE, NFC, has a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and even two camers – 5 MP rear-facing and 1.3 MP front-facing.  All-in-all a pretty impressive set of specs for just $50.  If you’re looking for an inexpensive Android phone, this certainly fits the bill.

The rest of the internet has this to say about the phone:

How to unlock the LG Phoenix from AT&TFree AT&T LG Phoenix Unlock Code

Another new relase coming to AT&T is the LG Phoenix.  It’s not release yet but will hit soon.  Rest assured AT&T will lock the device to their network and won’t be in any hurry to give out free unlock codes for this device.  Should that slow you down any?  No.  You can still unlock the LG Phonix just like you can almost any AT&T mobile cell phone.  If you want to use the Phoenix with some carrier other than AT&T be prepared to buy your unlock code online.

How to enter an LG Phoenix unlock code

1. Insert an unaccepted SIM card.
2. Turn on your LG mobile and it should display “Phone Restricted”.
3. Select “Cancel” and the LG phone will display “phone restriction code”.
4. Now, enter your LG unlock code.
5. Select OK and your mobile should be unlocked!

Asking AT&T for your unlock code doesn’t always get you a code.  They’ll give you a number of reasons like they don’t have it, etc, but don’t let that stop you from unlocking this device once it’s available.  Try this unlock service for your IMEI unlock code once the phone is available.

Free AT&T LG Thrive Unlock Code

When the LG Thrive is released on AT&T they will probably treat it much the same way they have the Samsung Focus SGH-i917 and the Motorola Atrix MB860 and not be giving out unlock codes for these devices.  That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to unlock it.  You can.  There’s no doubt it will be locked to AT&T so if you want to use it with another carriers sim card, you’ll have to unlock it.

How to unlock Blackberry Torch

The AT&T Blackberry Torch is a quad-band phone and, unlocked, should work on almost  GSM network.  To unlock the BlackBerry Bold 9700 you’ll need an unlock code in order to remove the cell phone’s SIM lock. If you’ve picked up the AT&T Blackberry Torch, it came with a SIM lock that prevents the device from working with another “unaccepted” carrier and only work on the Rogers Wireless network. If you remove the SIM lock on your BlackBerry Torch, because it is a quad-band GSM phone, you are free to use it on almost any GSM mobile network.

To unlock your phone for free, contact the carrier the device is locked to, like Rogers, AT&T, etc.  If the carrier won’t provide you a free unlock code we have linked to a couple of the best online sources for unlock codes throughout this article. After you obtain your Blackberry Torch unlock code you can use the following free unlock code instructions:

How To Unlock BlackBerry Torch

1. Turn off the Wireless Radio
2. Next go to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card
3. Now, hold down the ALT key and press the keys that correspond to: m e p d
4. Next hold down the ALT key again and press the keys that correspond to: m e p 2
5. You should see a menu where you can put in a 16 digit code and 10 tries to punch it in correctly.
6. After you enter in the code, press Enter.
7. It should say “Device Unlocked” and you have an unlocked Blackberry.

How To Get An Unlock Code

Getting a free code from your carrier doesn’t always work.  If you’re having difficulty getting your unlock code from  AT&T or any other carrier for the Blackberry Torch we recommend gsmunlocklabs.com or instantblackberrycode.com/ for all your BlackBerry unlocking needs.

Note: Instructions on this page (and site) are not guaranteed to work with every model. If you enter the wrong unlock code too many times you could enable a security lock on your SIM card.
